We’re seeking a Structural Mechanic I to work with one of the world’s leading business jet manufacturers— Gulfstream Aerospace —in Savannah, GA .

  • First shift: 4AM to 5AM until 2:30PM to 3:30PM \n\t\t
  • Second shift: 3PM to 4PM until 1:30AM to 2:30AM \n\t\t
  • Third shift: 10PM until 6PM \n\t\t
  • Weekend shift: 5AM to 5PM (12hrs) -- Friday Saturday Sunday or Saturday Sunday only \n\t
  \n\t\n\t
• 12-month contract with potential for permanent hire based on performance and business needs\n\t
• Gain hands-on experience in advanced structural assembly in a high-performance aerospace environment.\n\t
• Work in a safe, clean, and team-oriented facility that values continuous improvement and employee growth.\n

\n\n \n What’s a typical day as a Structural Mechanic I? You’ll be: \n\n

\n\t
• Performing structural assembly and fitting using blueprints, sketches, and work orders.\n\t
• Carrying out drilling, riveting, and fitting operations using hand and pneumatic tools.\n\t
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to determine sequence of operations and specifications.\n\t
• Ensuring assemblies are defect-free before final inspection and verifying quality standards.\n\t
• Maintaining accurate production logs and records (MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, etc.).\n\t
• Supporting 5S and Lean initiatives , keeping the work area organized and safe.\n\t
• Working both independently and collaboratively to meet production and quality goals.\n

\n\n \n This job might be an outstanding fit if you have: \n\n

\n\t
• High School Diploma or GED (required).\n\t
• 1 year of related structural assembly experience (aerospace preferred).\n\t
• Experience with Solumina and Smarteam systems (preferred).\n\t
• Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Technical Certificate Program graduates may receive 1 year of experience credit.\n\t
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and a 6" scale .\n\t
• Strong attention to detail and professional work habits.\n\t
• Proficiency with basic shop math and computer literacy.\n\t
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs , climb ladders/stairs , and work in confined spaces as needed.\n\t
• Commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement .\n

• Employment Type: 12-month contract\n\t
• Shift: must be open for the above stated shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd shift)\n\t
• Pay Rate: $21.21/hr.\n
