Job Description

The Security Manager provides certified Facility Security Officer expertise in direct support of the MARCENT Command Security Management Office. This role is responsible for safeguarding classified information, verifying clearances, processing visit requests, and ensuring compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual and DoD directives. The Security Manager also maintains and monitors records in DISS and NBIS, prepares security documentation for government approval, and provides on-call response to alarms or incidents when government personnel are unavailable . Additionally, the position develops and delivers security training and assessments to strengthen compliance and awareness. By combining technical knowledge of security systems with strong liaison skills, the Security Manager ensures MARCENT's mission is protected through effective management of personnel, information, and facility security. ***THIS EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD***

Responsibilities/Duties:

- Provide direct support to the MARCENT Command Security Management Office.

- Handle, mark, store, safeguard, and destroy classified material/information and Controlled Unclassified Information.

- Verify security clearances, initiate visit requests, and assist in execution of clearance procedures.

- Access Defense Information System for Security and National Background Investigation Services databases to process investigations and maintain records.

- Conduct reviews and assessments of security documentation for government approval.

- Provide on-call response to security alarms when government personnel are not available.

- Follow the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual in all duties.

Supplemental Duties:

- Prepare reports and documentation for security assessments.

- Support training/briefings related to security procedures and requirements.

- Assist in developing security policies and practices for classified material handling.

- Serve as primary point of contact for coordination with external security agencies.

Administrative Duties:

- Provide incident reports and trip reports as required.

- Maintain all required security and compliance training.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

None.

Education/Experience/Qualification:

- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

- 3-5 years as an FSO or Government Security Manager.

- Facility Security Officer Certification required.

- TS/SCI clearance required.

Additional Skills:

- Strong understanding of DISS and NBIS systems.

- Familiarity with classified material handling and destruction protocols.

- Ability to conduct security assessments and generate reports for government approval.

- Capability to respond to after-hours alarms and incidents.

- Strong communication and liaison skills for working with government and external agencies.

Location:

Primary workplace is MARCENT Headquarters, MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Florida.

Work Environment:

Office environment within a joint military/civilian/contractor staff. Requires coordination with MARCENT leadership and external agencies.

Physical Demands:

Primarily sedentary work, but may require walking inspections of secure facilities and handling of classified materials.

Work Schedule:

Full-time, 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday, 0800-1600.

Must be available for after-hours alarm recall.

License and Other Requirements:

Valid U.S. Driver's License. Eligibility for issuance of a Common Access Card.

May be required to travel for security training, conferences, or coordination meetings.
